  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 10-15 minutes
  • Yield: 3 cups of tea

Description

Lemon Balm Tea is a soothing herbal infusion that supports weight management and digestion. With its natural metabolism-boosting properties, this caffeine-free tea helps reduce bloating, improve digestion, and promote relaxation. Enjoy this refreshing and detoxifying drink as part of your wellness routine.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon balm leaves (or 1 heaped teaspoon dried lemon balm leaves)

  • 3 cups filtered water

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon raw honey or stevia (for sweetness)

  • Optional: 1-inch fresh ginger (sliced, for added metabolism boost)

  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick (for blood sugar regulation)

  • Optional: 2-3 fresh mint leaves (for digestion and cooling effect)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lemon Balm Leaves:

    • Rinse fresh lemon balm leaves under cool water.

    • Gently bruise the leaves by crushing them between your fingers to release their essential oils.

  • Heat the Water:

    • In a kettle, heat 3 cups of filtered water to about 160-180°F (do not boil).

  • Steeping the Tea:

    • Place the lemon balm leaves (fresh or dried) in a teapot.

    • Pour the hot water over the leaves and cover.

    • Let steep for 5-10 minutes for fresh leaves or 5 minutes for dried leaves.

  • Strain and Serve:

    • Strain the tea into a cup.

    • Add optional honey, ginger, cinnamon, or mint for enhanced benefits.

  • Enjoy Warm or Chilled:

    • Drink warm for a soothing effect or chill and serve over ice for a refreshing detox drink.

Notes

  • For weight loss benefits, drink 1-2 cups daily, preferably in the morning for metabolism activation and in the evening for relaxation.

  • Best steeping time: 5-10 minutes for maximum nutrient release.

  • Avoid drinking if you have thyroid issues or are on sedative medications—consult your healthcare provider first.

  • Enhance detox benefits by adding ginger, mint, or cinnamon to your tea.
